Rescue Efforts
According to the BNPB, the search and rescue team has identified signs of life from six individuals in a specific section of the collapsed structure. Rescuers have successfully provided food and water through existing gaps.
Casualties and Injuries
The official death toll from the incident is three, with nearly 100 injuries reported. Of those injured, 70 individuals have been discharged from medical facilities, while 26 remain hospitalized.
Response and Operations
Over 300 personnel from BNPB, the military, and national police are engaged in the rescue mission at Al Khoziny Islamic Boarding School in Sidoarjo, East Java. The collapse occurred on Monday afternoon during a prayer session attended by students and staff.
Authorities reported that the building’s foundational pillars failed amid unauthorized construction activities on an upper floor.

If assessments conclude that no survivors remain, heavy equipment will be deployed to recover deceased victims still trapped under the debris.
