A tragic incident occurred in northeastern Nigeria, resulting in at least 26 fatalities and 14 individuals reported missing following the capsizing of a boat carrying farmers and fishermen.
The accident took place on Sat, when a rudimentary passenger boat traveling from Jigawa State to Yobe State capsized. Mohammed Goje, the executive director of the State Emergency Management Agency in Yobe State, confirmed the recovery of 26 bodies.
Rescue efforts have so far resulted in the retrieval of 26 bodies, while 14 passengers remain missing. Thirteen other individuals have been rescued. Search and rescue operations are actively ongoing.
