Angola has reclaimed the Afrobasket title, defeating Mali in the final of the continental basketball championship.

The victory marks Angola's return to the top of African basketball 10 years after it lost the crown to Nigeria. The team, currently ranked third on the continent and 33rd in the world, delivered a dominant performance against its West African opponents.

This success comes in a competition that determines Africa's leading basketball nation. Angola had been one of the sport's traditional powerhouses before Nigeria claimed the title in 2015.

The final result underscores Angola's resurgence in the sport. Basketball enjoys significant popularity across several African countries, with national teams often serving as sources of national pride.
