Mohamed Salah scored in stoppage time, ensuring Egypt's victory. Despite being ranked 129th in the world, Zimbabwe presented strong resistance, notably through their goalkeeper, Washington Arubi.

The results lead to an upcoming top-of-the-table clash between Egypt's Pharaohs and South Africa's Bafana Bafana in Agadir, with previous AFCON meetings favoring Egypt.
