Nigerian President Bola Tinubu arrived in London on Wednesday, marking the first state visit by a Nigerian leader to the United Kingdom in nearly four decades. The visit commenced with a banquet hosted by King Charles III at Windsor Castle.
The banquet featured a greeting in the Yoruba language by King Charles III and included arrangements to accommodate the religious practices of Muslim guests during Ramadan. On Thursday, President Tinubu met with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer at 10 Downing Street. The discussions between the two leaders focused on trade, leading to the signing of a significant steel deal.
British Steel will supply 120,000 tonnes of steel. The steel will be used for the refurbishment of two major ports in Lagos, Nigeria's capital.
