Effective from Thu, May 1, 2025, China will eliminate tariffs on imports from 53 African countries. This policy excludes Eswatini due to its diplomatic ties with Taiwan.
This policy aims to enhance trade relations between China and Africa, building on the $222 billion trade value recorded in early 2025. Previously, China had a zero-tariff policy for 33 African nations; this update extends the policy to almost the entire continent.
