Chinese exports to African countries are projected to surpass $200 billion in 2025, according to recent customs data. In the first eight months of 2025, China exported goods valued at $122 billion to Africa.
During the same period, Africa exported goods worth $87 billion to China, marking a growth of 2.3% . This trade activity resulted in a trade deficit of nearly $60 billion for Africa.
The primary imports from China to Africa include machinery, heavy equipment, automobiles, and metal products. In 2024, the total bilateral trade between China and Africa reached $295.6 billion , establishing a new record for the fourth consecutive year.
