In Mozambique, at least 103 fatalities have been reported, attributed to drowning, lightning strikes, infrastructure collapse, and cholera outbreaks following unusually heavy rainfall.
In South Africa, at least 19 individuals have died in northern provinces. The flooding necessitated helicopter evacuations of tourists and staff from Kruger National Park due to inaccessible roads and bridges.
