The United States convened the inaugural meeting of the "Board of Peace" in Washington on Thu, with nine nations pledging a total of $7 billion to support the reconstruction of Gaza.
Five nations, including Morocco, have agreed to contribute troops to form an international stabilization force in the region. Initial deployment will occur in the southern city of Rafah, which is targeted as the starting point for reconstruction efforts.

Financial Requirements and Contributions
An estimated $70 billion is required for the comprehensive rebuilding of Gaza, following extensive destruction from conflicts. The United States has so far contributed approximately $160 million of its outstanding obligations exceeding $4 billion to the United Nations.
Representatives from around 50 countries attended the meeting, including officials from Britain, Germany, Italy, Norway, and Switzerland, who participated as observers without formally joining the board.
The United States has expressed intentions to collaborate with the United Nations to enhance its operations and infrastructure, particularly focusing on improvements to its New York headquarters.
