Doumbouya returns to Guinea after prolonged absence

Since coming to power, Doumbouya's administration has seen actions such as the crackdown on civil liberties and the banning of protests. Political opponents have faced arrests, trials, or exile. Guinea's political landscape has been shaped by a history of military and authoritarian governance since its independence in 1958.
