The governor made the remarks in the federal capital after appearing before the party's screening committee. He was one of several aspirants who presented themselves for vetting ahead of the primary election scheduled for 27 October.
The screening process forms part of preparations for the Ekiti State gubernatorial contest. Oyebanji, who currently leads the state, is seeking re-election under the APC banner.
Ekiti State, known for its hills and as a centre of learning, has been governed by the APC since 2018. The party first won power there after defeating the then-ruling People's Democratic Party.
