Among the honorees, Major Tigist Ferede, a battalion mechanic with over 20 years of military service, highlighted her experiences in various missions. She noted the improved conditions in South Sudan compared to her previous deployment, emphasizing the supportive local community and favorable weather. She stated, "Every vehicle I repair carries hope. When they move safely, I know I’ve done my part for peace."

Lieutenant General Mohan Subramanian, UNMISS Force Commander, paid tribute to the 142 Ethiopian soldiers who have lost their lives while serving under the United Nations flag.
