The flight arrived at OR Tambo International Airport on Mon, Nov 13, 2025, but passengers were initially denied entry due to a lack of Israeli departure stamps on their passports. They remained on the aircraft for 12 hours before being permitted to disembark as a humanitarian gesture by South African authorities.
Israeli officials have previously expressed support for the "voluntary emigration" of Palestinians from Gaza. In March 2025, Israel established a bureau to facilitate this process, indicating a significant interest among Gaza's residents to emigrate.
Al-Majd Europe and Financial Transactions
Al-Majd Europe launched a website in February 2025, claiming to provide relief efforts for Gaza residents seeking to leave. However, investigations revealed these claims to be unsubstantiated. Individuals reported being charged fees ranging from $1,000 to $2,500 per person, under conditions of confidentiality regarding their departures.
