Sports Update: ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Super Eight Stage

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 has progressed to the Super Eight stage, commencing on Saturday. Pakistan secured the final spot in this stage following a victory over Namibia. Australia, despite being former champions, did not qualify past the group stage.

The eight qualifying teams are divided into two groups, with India and Sri Lanka each hosting a group.

The teams will not carry over their points or net run rates from the previous stage, allowing each team to begin anew.

Each team will compete against the other three teams in their group once. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals. Wins will earn two points, while losses earn none. In the event of a tied match after the scheduled overs, a super over will be played to determine the winner.

Matches affected by poor weather require each team to play a minimum of five overs for the match to be considered complete. If a match is abandoned due to rain, each team will receive one point.

West Indies vs South Africa at 3pm (09:30 GMT) – Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad

India vs Zimbabwe at 7pm (13:30 GMT) – MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai

England vs New Zealand at 7pm (13:30 GMT) – R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo
