US diplomat James Swan has been appointed to lead the United Nations MONUSCO mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, as announced by Secretary-General António Guterres on Thu, Oct 12, 2023.
James Swan brings extensive experience to this role, having served in various capacities within the US government. His roles in Kinshasa included Ambassador, Deputy Chief of Mission, and Desk Officer.
