Following Gabon's performance in the Africa Cup of Nations, where the team did not secure a victory, the Gabonese government has announced a restructuring of the national team. This decision comes after Gabon also failed to qualify for the upcoming World Cup.
The interim Minister of Sport communicated via national television that the national team has been suspended. Reports indicate that team captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and player Bruno Ecuélé Manga have been dismissed. However, no statement was issued regarding the coach, Thierry Mouyouma.
This decision comes after Gabon also failed to qualify for the upcoming World Cup.
