Africa, with its linguistic diversity and cultural nuances, provides a rigorous testing ground for modern AI systems.
The challenge will take place from 4 March to 19 April 2026 on the Zindi platform. It involves a global community of data scientists and AI practitioners to identify vulnerabilities in African-trained and deployed Large Language Models (LLMs). Participants will generate adversarial prompts and safety classifications to test models across underrepresented languages and contexts.
This initiative is crucial for ensuring AI systems' safety in Africa, with global implications for deploying AI responsibly in multilingual economies. The outputs will contribute to creating a practical, Africa-focused AI trust and safety benchmark.
