According to the General Directorate of Elections, Doumbouya secured 86.72% of the votes counted thus far. Yéro Baldé, a former education minister, received 6.51% of the votes, placing him second. Voter turnout was reported at 80.95% of the 6.7 million registered voters.
Baldé, representing the Democratic Front of Guinea, has challenged the results, asserting during a press briefing that the vote count did not reflect the popular verdict. He indicated plans to pursue legal avenues to contest the outcome.
