As 2025 concludes, the conflict in Sudan between the national army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) continues. This conflict, ongoing for over two and a half years, has resulted in numerous fatalities and significant displacement of the population.
This week, a peace plan was presented to the United Nations Security Council. The proposal includes provisions for the RSF to disarm and relinquish control of occupied territories.
The RSF has dismissed the plan, describing it as unrealistic.
