On Fri, the President of Ivory Coast, Alassane Ouattara, announced a government reshuffle. Most ministers have retained their positions, while Tene Birahima Ouattara, the current Defence Minister and the President's brother, has been appointed as Deputy Premier.
The reshuffle follows the general election held in December, where the ruling RHDP party secured nearly 80% of the parliamentary seats. This announcement comes three months after President Ouattara was re-elected for his fourth term with approximately 90% of the vote. Prime Minister Robert Beugre Mambe will continue in his current role.
Tene Birahima Ouattara will maintain his position as Defence Minister and will also take on the newly established role of Deputy Prime Minister, as stated by the President's office.
