Kenyan athletes achieved significant victories at the 45th Valencia Marathon held on Sunday.
John Korir secured first place with a time of 02:02:24, marking the eighth best performance globally this year and narrowly missing the 2025 record by eight seconds.
Amanal Petros finished in second place, setting a new German record with a time of 02:04:03. Awet Kibrab from Norway completed the podium with a time of 02:04:24.

The Valencia course is renowned for its speed, and both winners achieved personal bests. This year's marathon set a new record with 36,000 participants, according to event organizers.
