Witnesses report that the activists, who had traveled to Uganda to support opposition leader Bobi Wine, were intercepted at a petrol station in Kireka, Kampala. Armed individuals, some in police uniforms, reportedly forced them into a van. Their mobile phones have since been turned off, and their whereabouts remain unknown.
Response from Human Rights Organizations
Amnesty International Kenya, the Law Society of Kenya, and VOCAL Africa have issued a joint letter urging the Ugandan government to disclose the activists' location and ensure their safety.
