Kwankwasiyya Movement Directs Members to Join ADC Party
The political group in Kano has instructed its supporters to move to the African Democratic Congress as part of a broader coalition aimed at challenging President Bola Tinubu in future elections.

Dr. Habibu Sale Mohammed, the movement's spokesperson, issued the directive on a Saturday in late March. He said Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, the national leader of the Kwankwasiyya, had completed plans to join a coalition seeking to unseat President Bola Tinubu.
The announcement signals a significant shift for the movement, which has been closely associated with the New Nigeria Peoples Party. Kwankwaso is expected to leave the NNPP on the Monday following the statement.
Kwankwasiyya is a prominent political force in Kano State, where it draws much of its support from urban and rural voters loyal to Kwankwaso, a former governor. The movement has played a key role in state and national politics in recent years, often mobilising large crowds for rallies and election campaigns.
