In Kenya, the company is partnering with G42 to construct a $1 billion geothermal-powered data center in Olkaria, specifically designed for AI workloads. Additionally, Microsoft has committed $285 million to expand its cloud and AI infrastructure in South Africa, bringing its total investment in the country to over $1.3 billion over three years. The company has also pledged to train 1 million South Africans in AI and cloud architecture by the end of 2026.
