An industry expert has urged Nigeria to accelerate adoption of drone systems for security and economic purposes following developments in the Middle East.

Engr. Okosubide Mozimo, managing director of ARCO Worldwide Services Limited, said the situation underscores the urgent need for Nigeria to embrace and deploy drones. The technology could play a vital role in bolstering national security while simultaneously supporting broader economic objectives.
Nigeria faces diverse security challenges across its territory, including insurgencies in the northeast, banditry in the northwest, and separatist agitations in the southeast. Conventional responses have often proven slow or limited in reach, prompting calls for more agile tools.
Mozimo argued that drones offer capabilities that could address these gaps. Their use in surveillance, reconnaissance, and targeted operations has been evident in recent Middle Eastern engagements, where they have altered tactical dynamics on the ground.
