Morocco’s General Directorate of Meteorology has issued an orange-level weather alert for multiple regions due to a continuing cold wave.
The alert includes warnings for snowfall, heavy rain, low temperatures, and strong winds, particularly in mountainous areas. Snowfall is expected to range from 20 to 40 centimeters on Tuesday in high-altitude zones affecting the northern provinces of Midelt, Sefrou, Taza, Boulemane, and Ifrane.
Lighter snowfall, ranging from 5 to 15 centimeters, is forecasted for the provinces of Figuig, Tinghir, and Ouarzazate, among others.

In response to the severe cold wave impacting the region, Morocco has initiated the “Facing Severe Cold” program to assist vulnerable communities. This operation is managed by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity and aims to support 73,000 households with food and blankets.
Authorities continue to advise residents in affected areas to remain vigilant.
