Although the protests have been mostly peaceful, there have been incidents of violence and vandalism. Reports indicate that three individuals have died, and over 500 activists have been arrested since the unrest began.
The movement aims to pressurize the government to enact reforms in education and healthcare, address corruption, and resolve the ongoing cost of living crisis. The demonstrations were ignited in late September after the deaths of eight women during Caesarean sections at a hospital in Agadir, highlighting issues within public healthcare facilities.
