These sightings have resulted in at least three fatalities within the country. Notably, two individuals lost their lives in an incident in Gaza province earlier this month.
A separate incident reported by local sources involved a man being attacked by a crocodile in Moamba, a town located in Maputo province.
Paola Emerson, a representative from the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Mozambique, highlighted concerns regarding rising river levels. These increases have led to crocodiles from the Limpopo river entering urban and densely populated areas now submerged by floodwaters.
