The Uganda Police Force reported that the collision was caused by overtaking maneuvers conducted by the buses traveling in opposite directions. Both buses collided head-on during these maneuvers.
In response to the accident, the police have advised all motorists to exercise increased caution while driving, specifically avoiding dangerous and careless overtaking, which is a significant cause of road accidents in Uganda.
