The organizations, represented by Abdourahamane Oumarou, spokesperson for the Alliance of Sahel States Citizen Watch, accused France of influencing the European resolution. Oumarou stated that France is allegedly using its networks within European institutions to exert political pressure and regain influence in the region through diplomatic means.
Criticism of International Involvement
The organizations also criticized the presence of international partners in the Sahel, arguing that these partners have failed to stabilize the region. They emphasized that the Sahel states are pursuing a new path toward sovereignty and reconciliation, rejecting any external attempts to dictate their choices.
