Nine individuals have been charged with terrorism-related offenses in connection with a major attack in Benue State, Nigeria, which occurred on Fri, Jun 13, 2025. The attack primarily targeted the Yelwata community.
Approximately 150 individuals lost their lives during the incident when armed assailants attacked Yelwata, utilizing AK-47 firearms. The attackers destroyed homes and killed civilians, with some being burned alive. Numerous individuals sustained injuries during the event.

On Mon, the Federal High Court in Abuja filed 57 charges related to terrorism against the suspects allegedly connected to the attacks.
The court stated that the nine accused, led by Ardo Lawal Mohammed Dono, convened multiple times to orchestrate the attacks, engaging in fundraising and recruitment of armed personnel over several months.
Prosecutors further allege that the suspects solicited funds from community leaders in Nasarawa State, where they are said to have held planning meetings for the massacre.
