A court in Nigeria has postponed the trial of the driver involved in the accident that resulted in injuries to British boxer Anthony Joshua. The hearing is now scheduled for Tue, Feb 25, 2025.
The incident occurred on Sun, Dec 29, 2024, when the vehicle driven by Adeniyi Kayode collided with a stationary truck on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The crash resulted in the deaths of Latif Ayodele, Joshua's personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, his strength coach. Joshua was hospitalized for two days following the accident.
Kayode is facing four charges:

Kayode was granted bail set at $3,480 and appeared in Sagamu Magistrates Court in Ogun state wearing a black hoodie. The court has ordered the duplication of the case file and has forwarded it to the Attorney General's office for legal advice.
Anthony Joshua, who holds Nigerian nationality, has family connections in Nigeria and attended boarding school in the country during his childhood.
