On Wed, the Vice President of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima, visited Maiduguri, emphasizing the commitment to restore peace following a tragic incident. A triple suicide bombing resulted in the death of 23 individuals, marking one of the most severe attacks on the capital of Borno state in recent years.
The attack occurred on Monday evening, targeting a central market, a post office area, and the entrance to a prominent hospital. The explosions happened shortly after residents ended their Ramadan fast.
Vice President Shettima expressed condolences to the government and people of Borno state. He stated, "We will not rest on our laurels until full peace and sanity is restored in Borno, the Northeast, and the nation as a whole."
