According to Hanan el-Derbashy, head of the solidarity and debtors sector at Misr ElKheir Foundation, the charity's objective for this year is to provide meals for approximately 7 million individuals observing the fast. The foundation coordinates efforts across multiple departments, including supply chain, execution, field offices, and the Takaful department, with planning starting five to six months in advance.
In Cairo, residents are experiencing difficulties in preparing for Ramadan due to the high cost of living. The rising prices of traditional Ramadan items, such as yamish—a mixture of dates, nuts, and dried fruits—are impacting household budgets.
