Speaking in Moscow alongside Namibian Foreign Minister Selma Ashipala-Musavyi, Lavrov stated that his views are shared by the "overwhelming majority of states in the global South and East."
Lavrov further commented that "only Western Europeans and other Washington allies are timidly trying to avoid making principled assessments."
The operation caused power outages in parts of Caracas and affected military installations.
Russia's top diplomat accused Washington of abandoning its previously promoted principles, describing the US as now appearing "unreliable."
Russia had previously described the US intervention in Venezuela as "an act of armed aggression."
On January 3, US forces seized Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores. The operation caused power outages in parts of Caracas and affected military installations. Both individuals are detained in New York, where they pleaded not guilty in court to charges of narco-terrorism and other offenses.
