Previously, Sony required PC players of Helldivers 2 to link their Steam accounts with the PlayStation Network (PSN), which limited sales in countries without PSN access. This requirement was subsequently removed for several titles, including Spider-Man 2 , after initial implementation.

The release of Stellar Blade on PC on Tue, Jun 11, 2024, saw a similar PSN login requirement, which was later made optional, contributing to a successful launch with nearly 200,000 players in the opening week. The relaxation of these restrictions allows for broader access to PC games, including Stellar Blade and Helldivers 2 , without a mandatory PSN account.
However, some Sony titles on Steam, such as Ghost of Tsushima and Until Dawn , continue to face regional restrictions.
