On Tue, Oct 7, 2025, the trial of pig farmer Zachariah Olivier and his employee William Musora resumed before the Polokwane High Court. The case involves allegations that two women were shot, and their bodies were disposed of by feeding them to pigs.
Withdrawal of Charges Against Co-Accused
Earlier in the week, the State withdrew charges against a co-accused, Adriaan Rudolph De Wet , following his agreement to testify under South Africa’s Section 204 procedure. De Wet's prosecution will be dropped only if his testimony is deemed "frank and honest" by the court.
During previous proceedings, De Wet indicated that he was coerced by Olivier to dispose of the victims’ bodies in a pigsty. Olivier and Musora deny any responsibility. In response to De Wet’s forthcoming testimony, Olivier’s defense has requested a postponement to further investigate the newly presented evidence.

The victims, identified as Maria Makgato and Lucia Ndlovu , were reportedly scavenging for expired dairy products on Olivier’s farm near Polokwane. A third individual, Ndlovu’s husband, was allegedly shot at but survived the incident.
The court is scheduled to continue hearing the case between Oct 6 and Oct 17, 2025.
