Patrice Motsepe, President of CAF, revealed these updates on Sat, Dec 19, 2025, during a press conference prior to the 2025 Africa Cup hosted by Morocco. The 2027 Africa Cup will proceed as planned in Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania, with the subsequent edition moved to 2028. The next tournament will then occur in 2032.
The inaugural African Nations League is scheduled for 2029, involving all 54 CAF member countries. The competition will be organized into four geographical zones, with matches set for September and October, leading to finals in November. This initiative aims to showcase top African talent playing in Europe and worldwide on the continent annually.
