Morocco Wins Second FIFA Arab Cup Title

Morocco secured their second FIFA Arab Cup title with a 3-2 victory over Jordan after extra time in the final held in Qatar. The match took place at Lusail Stadium in Doha on Thu, Dec 18, 2025.

Oussama Tannane opened the scoring for Morocco in the fourth minute with a long-range goal from 59 meters, catching the Jordanian goalkeeper Yazeed Abulaila off guard. This goal set the tone for a dramatic final.

Jordan equalized three minutes into the second half when Ali Oliwan scored from a corner. They then took the lead in the 68th minute through a penalty converted by Oliwan after a handball by Achraf El Mahdioui.

Morocco's Abderrazak Hamdallah leveled the match in the 88th minute, leading to extra time. During extra time, a potential goal by Jordan's Mohannad Abutaha was disallowed due to a handball, and Hamdallah scored the winning goal following a bicycle kick assist from Marwane Saadane.

The victory marks Morocco's first Arab Cup win since 2012. The Atlas Lions will now focus on hosting the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The FIFA Arab Cup 2025 saw over a million tickets sold, doubling the sales from the previous tournament.
