India has successfully completed a clean sweep in Group A of the T20 World Cup, defeating the Netherlands by 17 runs in Ahmedabad.
India, co-hosting the tournament with Sri Lanka, secured their position in the Super Eights stage following victories in all their opening matches. The latest win reinforced their dominant form against the Netherlands, who had nearly upset Pakistan in a previous match.
India chose to bat first and scored 193-6. Shivam Dube led the scoring with 66 runs off 31 balls, including 19 runs in the 16th over. Despite a challenging start, Dube adapted to the bowling strategy and maintained a high strike rate, as instructed by the team captain and coaches.
Abhishek Sharma, the world’s top-ranked T20 international batsman, was dismissed for a duck by Aryan Dutt, marking his third consecutive zero in the tournament.
