Established in 2019, FIFF Cotonou aims to showcase the talent of African female directors. This biennial event attracts over 1,000 participants from across Africa.
The program featured 18 short films from 14 African countries, addressing contemporary issues such as grief, blackmail, revenge, and resilience. The festival celebrated the creativity of women filmmakers.

Best Documentary: "Les Chaînes du Deuil" by Beninese director Dorcas Ganmagba. The film highlights the inhumane conditions imposed on mourning women in certain southern Benin communities. Best Performance: "Mia" by Burkinabe director Hana Halia Lebo Traoré. The film addresses the topic of blackmail faced by a teenager filmed without her consent. Golden Amazon (Grand Prize): "The Incredible Sensational Fiancée of Sèyí Àjàyí" by Nigerian director Abesssi Akhamie. This comedy focuses on a woman scholar who turns her distress into revenge after discovering her fiancé's engagement to another.
The next edition of FIFF Cotonou is scheduled for 2028, continuing its mission to inspire and promote female voices across the African continent.
