The performance, staged in Ouagadougou, involves actors from the three nations integrating theater, dance, and music. The objective is to promote hope, love, tolerance, peace, and social cohesion among the communities.
Director Paul Zoungrana stated that A Sahel Vigil serves as a platform for communities in Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso to discuss shared issues and seek progress.
The musical comedy aims to inspire hope for peace and resilience, highlighting the possibility of collaboration among artists from these countries. It follows the story of a young man who, through a traditional vigil, decides to abandon a planned terrorist attack, emphasizing traditional values and social bonds.
