Authorities are currently investigating the accident.
Israel’s Itamar Einhorn secured the first yellow jersey with a completion time of 4 hours and 5 seconds. The opening stage, the longest of the eight, spans 173 kilometers and includes an elevation gain of over 2000 meters.
