The burial site, initially reserved for family members and leaders, saw mourners breach security barriers to gain access. Odinga, aged 80, passed away in India on Wednesday while receiving medical treatment. His body was welcomed by thousands of mourners in Nairobi on Thursday. Several public viewing events attracted large crowds, resulting in injuries and fatalities due to stampedes.
