According to Gauteng Police spokesperson Brenda Muridili, no arrests have been made at this time. Initial reports suggest the seven victims, aged between 13 and 19, were targeted by three individuals believed to be associated with a rival gang. Police stated that the teenagers were approached by four suspects on foot, three of whom were armed. The suspects opened fire without warning and subsequently fled the scene.

The wounded victims were transported to a hospital for medical treatment. The Provincial Anti-Gang Unit is conducting an investigation at the site, supported by SAPS Forensic Services. District Crime Intelligence has also been deployed to assist in locating the suspects.
