Uganda Issues Voter Location Slips Ahead of 2026 General Elections
The Electoral Commission began distributing slips in December 2025 to help voters find their assigned polling stations for the upcoming national vote.
The Electoral Commission of Uganda has started issuing Voter Location Slips to registered voters nationwide as part of preparations for the 2026 general elections.
The slips are designed to inform each voter of the specific polling station where they must cast their ballot on election day. Distribution of the documents began on 15 December 2025 and is scheduled to run until 13 January 2026.
The move forms part of a broader process to ensure orderly voting in the East African nation, where general elections occur every five years. Uganda’s voters elect the president, members of parliament and local government representatives in a single nationwide poll.
Voter Location Slips are issued based on existing voter registers and the location of polling centres, which can change between election cycles due to population shifts or administrative adjustments.
