Uganda General Elections Scheduled for January 15
The Electoral Commission of Uganda has announced that the country's general elections will take place on Mon, Jan 15, 2024.
Yoweri Museveni: The 81-year-old incumbent, in power since 1986, is seeking re-election. Under his leadership, the constitution was amended twice to remove age and term limits. Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine): A former pop star turned politician, Wine has leveraged his fame to engage younger voters. He previously contested in the 2021 election, alleging electoral fraud by the ruling party. Six additional candidates from smaller parties are also participating in the presidential race.
The Electoral Commission of Uganda has announced that the country's general elections will take place on Mon, Jan 15, 2024.
In addition to the presidential election, Ugandan citizens will elect members of parliament.
