According to Winnie Byanyima, Besigye's spouse, his health has been deteriorating. Reports indicate that his physical condition is worsening during his time in detention.
Besigye was reportedly abducted in November 2024 in Nairobi and subsequently appeared in a military court. His legal counsel, led by Martha Karua, has expressed concerns over delays in the judicial process and the conditions of his imprisonment, which they claim are adversely affecting his health.
