African CEO Forum Opens in Kigali with Global Leaders

More than 1,000 chief executive officers, 75 presidents and ministers, investors and around 200 journalists from 73 countries convened in Kigali for the 2024 African CEO Forum.

The event, which began in May 2024, brought together senior decision-makers to discuss Africa's economic challenges and opportunities. Rwanda has positioned itself as a hub for such high-level gatherings, seeking to strengthen its role in continental business dialogue.

According to Nairametrics, the forum represented one of the largest concentrations of African and international business figures in the region that year. Participants came from across Africa and beyond, reflecting broad interest in the continent's investment climate.

Rwanda, a landlocked East African nation of about 14 million people, has invested heavily in modern infrastructure and business-friendly policies since the end of the 1994 genocide. The capital Kigali regularly hosts international conferences aimed at attracting foreign investment and promoting intra-African trade.

The African CEO Forum serves as a platform for networking among top executives, government officials and financial institutions. Discussions typically focus on sectors such as infrastructure, technology, energy and agriculture, which remain central to Africa's development agenda.
