Uganda Water Utility Plans Expansion to 35 More Towns
The National Water and Sewerage Corporation is preparing to extend services following positive assessment by the French government, which has backed previous infrastructure projects across the country.
The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) in Uganda intends to bring piped water and sewerage services to 35 additional towns, building on its record of operational improvements.
French Ambassador to Uganda Virginie Leroy praised the corporation for its technical efficiency and dedication to service delivery. The diplomat made the comments during a visit to the utility's headquarters in the Nakasero neighbourhood of Kampala.
The ambassador met with NWSC Managing Director Dr Silver Mugisha. Discussions focused on reviewing the corporation's performance and ongoing cooperation with French partners.
France has previously supported several water and sanitation initiatives in Uganda. These projects have helped expand access to clean water in both urban and rural areas of the East African nation.
